I recently stayed at a unique hostel in San Salvador for 2 nights. The building, a renovated mansion, had a lot of character with beautiful art and plants. The owner and staff, especially Andres, were very helpful and knowledgeable. The Chaparrastique room I stayed in was spacious and had a private bathroom. The kitchen was well-stocked and the guests I met were friendly. The hostel was conveniently located near Parque Cuscatlan, perfect for starting free walking tours. I had a great experience at this hostel.
I do recommend this hotel.

More breakfast choices would have made it even better. The terrace could be maintained better.

The kitchen was very well equipped and had a great size. The beds were comfortable with fans inside. One advantage I enjoyed was the availability of drinking water for no extra charge. The location was also key, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions.
The bathroom walls could have been cleaner. Additionally, the staff was not particularly helpful or interested in providing information about the area or transportation.

The Hostal Cumbres Del Volcan Flor Blanca was a beautifully done up house with an interesting history. The Art Deco feel and well-complemented furniture added to the charm. The staff were excellent, and the kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The owner, Malcolm Collins, was very helpful and provided valuable information about safety in the city.
For us, the location was not ideal for shops. But that's hardly the fault of the property!
